Meeting our supplier

With about 10 supplier meetings lined up, the bags where packed and we took off direction Portugal.

Our friends at The Research institute of Sweden (RISE) had told us that lyocell was the material we needed. And they also told us that the north of Portugal, e.g. Guimarães is a good place to find high quality, family owned factories, willing to commit to smaller quantities.

After a four hour drive from Lisbon we arrived at our Surf Camp. Why Surf Camp? Because why not combine work with pleasure.

We started with the pleasure part, and went for a surf with the camp owner. He then told us that one of his childhood friends, Miguel now is well connected in the textile industry. Our ears grew faster than the weeds in your garden. Bingo!

Miguel picked us up the day after and took us on a tour to the suppliers he thought where best in the region.

The following days got hectic, trying to combine his ideas of suppliers with the meetings we had already lined up. But we where on a lucky streak, powered by the few waves we managed to catch.

Back in Zürich we received samples from 12 different suppliers. And as you might have figured out already, in the end, the supplier we now work with is a friend of Miguel.

Now we are selling boxer briefs in five beautiful colors. And we hope you enjoy them as much as we do! The journey has just started.
